Highly rated keeper agrees to join the County

The club are pleased to confirm that highly rated goalkeeper Tom Williams has agreed to join the club for the forthcoming season from Ipswich based team Capel Plough, also of Step 7.

A new goalkeeper may not have been an obvious first target for new manager Hunter but following multiple changes in the goalkeeping position last season and the loss of last seasons solid reserve team keeper Wiggett for the first part of the season it has been seen as a position that requires strengthening.

Here's what the manager had to say, 'Good quality goalkeepers are hard to come by and Tom is certainly one who fits into that bracket. In a short trial he was able to make this a very straight forward decision and I am certain he will be a very good addition to the squad this season'.

It is expected that the club may bring in as many as 7 new players this season with 2 defenders, a central midfielders, 2 wingers and a striker believed to be top of the shopping list.
