New Manager's Thoughts

Lee Simpson
- With hard work, dedication & a positive mindset I

I’d like to take this moment to thank Richard Lloyd for this opportunity at Berks County FC. The club has grown considerably in a short space of time to be one of the leading clubs in the local area with a fantastic reputation, especially their thriving youth & senior section which continues to grow.

I’m taking on this role following Robert Hunter’s departure, I’d like to thank Robert for his hard work, dedication & commitment to the club over the last few years, he has been an integral part to the growth of the senior section & I hope to take on his good work so far. I’d also like to thank Robert for offering a smooth transition to my new role over the past 10 days.

I am relishing the challenge ahead & its one I’m very much looking forward too. I am inheriting a tight-knit squad with great work ethic & potential, and I am looking forward to developing them further to help us progress on the pitch. Following a tough start, the squad must be praised for their recent run of good form, which includes an up and coming quarter-final appearance in February.

I am continuing with my role within the Youth section at Bracknell Town Football Club, my past experience within the Senior Section at the club has given me a great foundation to be able to take on this role. The experiences & knowledge I obtained at senior level has given me the platform to put myself in this position.

I now believe I am ready for a new challenge with the motivation needed to progress the football club further, with the ambition of Club Chairman Richard Lloyd, we possess the same desire to drive the club forwards. With hard work, dedication & a positive mindset I don’t see any reason why this club can’t fulfil its potential.

I’d like to welcome Ed Carpenter to the club as my Assistant Manager, I have enjoyed a positive working relationship with Ed in the past & he is someone I trust & respect to take on this exciting new project with me. I’d also like to confirm that Nathan Baker & Liam Bourke will be continuing their roles within the club & I look forward to working with them both.
