The girls completed their 100% winning record in the group stage of the trophy by comfortably beating Rotherfield 2-0.

It was a slow start today for Berks County but they soon found their way into the game and scored the opening goal midway into the half with some excellent work from Anfield. Anfield was then involved with the second goal, sending a super cross into the box, Amelia was in exactly the right place to smash it into the net giving us a comfortable 2 goal lead to preserve.

Coaches player was as difficult as ever, but Anfield pipped it today, although feeling unwell, she gave everything on the pitch. She did not stop trying to create throughout the game and was involved in both of the goals. Well done Anfield!

Parents player of the match went to Paige, she defended as reliably as ever and looked to drive up the pitch when space opened up for her to dribble out of defence. Another solid second half in goal from Paige as well! Well deserved, Paige!

Beatrice was also feeling unwell but was a very close contender for coaches player of the match, for the past 3 games Beatrice has barely let anyone past her in defence, she is also winning her challenges and generally putting in faultless performances - today was no different! Annabel put in some full blown recovery runs over the course of the game and showed real skill when turning with the ball at her feet in midfield, she also made some amazing passes into the box!

Zara stuck to her task of being the last player in defence when Ava came off, she also won all of her challenges and played an important role on stopping Rotherfield from scoring any goals. Ava played a slightly more attacking role today, her diagonal passes out from the back were pinpoint. She broke up play in the middle and had to fight off 2 or 3 players at a time for most of the game; another player that has become insanely consistent with her performance levels. Lily kept a clean sheet in goal first half and really pushed forward to create attacking opportunities on the right side of the pitch when outfield second half. Adelaide had to play against a very tall, strong opponent but she did not let this put her off. She continued where she left off last game, dribbling down the wing, playing crosses into the box and putting tackles in.

We were particularly strong with our wing play today and this was largely due to the work rate of the players on the left and the right, Penelope did not give her opponents a second on the ball, this quite often led to them making a mistake and kicking it out, or Penelope winning the ball back for the team. She also made good decisions when in possession of the ball. Amelia got herself another well deserved goal, she is always following in and holding her space at the back post, so it is not by coincidence that she found herself on the scoresheet! Amelia was also unlucky not to get an assist when Anfield almost connected with her cross late in the second half.
