Another really good performance from the team today and a deserving place in the Semi Final of the league Trophy!
We were a little slow out of the blocks but managed to repel early attacks from Ascot between Lily in goal and the defence. We then got a goal on the break, the ball was crossed in by Ava and Anfield managed to bundle it over the line. Our second goal came from Amelia H who cut inside on the left and took aim at goal, it deceived the goalkeeper and ended up in the back of the net. Amelia E then got in on the action with an expertly place strike into the bottom corner of the net. Goal of the game then came from Amelia with a first time strike that flew into the net.

There were lots of player of the match awards today!

Coaches player went to Ava, she took control of the game early on, stepping up for her team in defence and attack. She was switched on throughout and did not stop running, playing some fantastic balls through to the forwards and just producing a complete performance - well done, Ava!

Parents Player went to Paige, she made some really important interventions in defence in the first quarter, managed to win the ball back and dribble past players in her own half, and played some super passes into the box. She showed excellent composure and her 1v1 defence was faultless - well done, Paige!

Ascot's players chose a player of the match and that went to Lily, she made some important saves in the first half and did not stop driving forward on the right wing when she was outfield. She also tracked back to defend showing boundless energy! The coaching staff also chose a player of the match and that went to Amelia H - it was arguably her best game yet, she held her position throughout and was a constant threat in attack. Her first goal came from some excellent work on the left, but the second goal was absolutely sensational, a rocket!

All of the team deserve recognition today, they all worked so hard, Amelia E and Anfield give us such a strong presence up front, Amelia E came on with real purpose and did not waste any time in smashing the ball into the net! Anfield used all of her skills and tricks to take on players and was so unlucky to not find the back of the net more than once. Zara yet again did not put a single foot wrong positionally or on the ball, she has become a very accomplished and reliable defender for us at the back! Beatrice was full of energy and power again today, she cleared her lines when it was needed and also looked to get involved in attacks more frequently. Penelope did her usual thing of not giving players time on the ball and getting her foot in to challenge at important moments. Adelaide brought the same energy, she tackled and pressed in midfield and held her space on the wing really well. Georgie linked up really well with Beatrice on the left hand side of the pitch, she made good decisions and played the way she facing to retain possession of the ball, she also played some great passes into our attackers. Annabel was on midfield duties today and she was very direct in attack, she was also alert in our penalty to defend a dangerous corner and her intervention eventually led to our third goal.

On to the semi finals!
