The club would like to make an announcement regarding a change of certain circumstances following the senior re-structure that we announced recently.
Firstly, it is with regret that First team coach Nathan Baker has decided to leave the club to persue a coaching role with Ascot United’s Allied Counties team. Nathan is an excellent coach and will be a major asset for Ascot United. We thank him for his contribution at the club over the past few years and wish him well in his new role. Joining Nathan at Ascot is first team player and former manager Zak Spencer. We wish Zak all the best in his new role.
This has however opened a door for an existing club member to step into a newly created Player/Assistant manager role and I am delighted to announce that our highly regarded Northern Irishman Roger Greer has accepted this position and will assume new responsibilities with immediate effect.
Roger joined the club last summer and had an excellent first season, scoring 8 goals and creating 7 in 17 appearances in positions including RB, RW and striker. His experience, knowledge of the game and popularity within the club make him an excellent addition to Rob Hunter’s backroom team.
The club are still considering a 3rd position as first team coach and would welcome anybody, internally or externally, that may be interested in the role to contact the club.
